My Daily Deviation Guidelines by BeckyKidus, journal
My Daily Deviation Guidelines
Hello! I am one of the community volunteers for resources (stock images, tutorials, brushes, etc.) and traditional art. This means I can select Daily Deviations. What is a Daily Deviation (DD), and who give them? A Daily Deviation is a feature, selected by Community Volunteers or Staff Members, from right here on DeviantArt. If you want to suggest art for other areas, you can see the updated CV list here. Today's DDs can be found here :la: General rules for suggesting a DD: There is a "6-month rule," which means an artist cannot receive another DD if they have had one in the last 6 months. Deviants who have been inactive for longer than a month are also ineligible. For fairness sake, deviations that are part of a current contest are also not eligible until AFTER that contest has closed and the winners have been announced. Do not send the same DD suggestion to multiple CVs, as it causes great confusion. Please suggest to only ONE person. Original Work only. It goes without
How To - Write a tutorial by ImaginaryRosseArt, journal
How To - Write a tutorial
As a part of my upcoming project for the Resources & Stock Images group, called "How To" today we're gonna talk about how to write a tutorial.
I have been writing tutorials myself, I have been recording tutorials myself, so today we're gonna talk about the written ones.
Here are some little bits of advice on how to write a tutorial, from my personal experience.
Sketching the idea
The first step should always be sketching the tutorial out in your mind.
What's the subject about? How do you want to approach it? How do you want to go about it?
Depending on what your tutorial is about, try and make a small sketch in your mind,
or even be
Sunday Stock Wrap Up #5 by ImaginaryRosseArt, journal
Sunday Stock Wrap Up #5
I decided to turn my Sunday journal, into a little project called "Stock Wrap Up" which will feature resources & stocks from the past week.
As I previously mentioned, stock is art, and they deserve the same recognition as any other artists.
IMPORTANT: I will not feature .png cut-outs that have no source. I will not feature 3D models from any kind of games or a reliable source.
I will not feature images with celebrities, or anything like that.
For more information about stock and resources, please read the following guideline:

Game Renders vs. Fan Art - Article. by ImaginaryRosseArt, journal
Game Renders vs. Fan Art - Article.
Because there seems to be a confusion between game renders (that you mostly see in the stock images & resources galleries) and fan art, I decided to write this article to help and maybe clarify it.
Game renders, can NEVER be used to create fan art. And here is the reason why:
Game Renders:
Game renders are extractions from games. You are basically extracting a character/object/ scene / etc that is copyrighted.
And you extract it "as it is"
All characters, scenes, objects, clothes, etc, have a creator or multiple creators. Someone created that character, they built it from scratch. That means everything: from how would they look, beha
Hello guys!
Although there's an amazing guideline about stock images, which I helped to update recently on CRPhotomanipulation (https://www.deviantart.com/crphotomanipulation)
(which I highly recommend you have a look at)
I want to take another approach to this category.
I have been around devianART for 13 years now. Back then, the resources were quite limited, and some really talented people started working their asses off to provide us with amazing stock images.
They invested their time, their money into costumes, wigs, and so on.
And I really do want to mention some of the stock artists who are still around, and still kick ass at providing amazing stock images:

Credit where credit is due... by NaomiVanDoren, journal
Credit where credit is due...
I've wanted to share an issue that is near and very dear to my heart; crediting an artist or photographer when you share their work. I'm seeing more and more a casual disregard for the artist and her work. As an artist and photographer my work is my life, it's who I am and how I make a living. Sharing my work to the world makes me so happy but if you share and don't link or credit you're stealing, plain and simple.
I think Christopher Burdett touches on this subject perfectly. Please take a moment to read and share.

Project #stocks4commercialuse - NEW STOCKPROVIDERS
EXPLAINING THE PROJECT
Hello fellow artists, friends, watchers, ... A few months ago I started a new project, called #stocks4commercialuse
As a book cover designer and digital artist I find it sometimes very difficult to find the right stocks for my artworks & commissions. A lot of hours are spent on searching stocks and reading the rules from all different stock providers here on DA. A lot of fellow artists here are experiencing the same issue. Therefore I am reaching out to the stock providers here on Deviantart, who are still active and would like to join this project and help the photo manipulator community to help other artists t
