works that I have come across. It started off as stock I can't provide
myself so I look for other peoples so I can suggest them. The way I
choose is quite odd, when I see a stock image I have an instant image in
my head of what I could do or create out of that piece of stock. The
image also has to be crystal clear and easily altered.

This includes among other things images, textures, brushes, fonts etc., just to name the most commonly used Stock and Resource items.
The Photo Manipulation gallery and community f.e. takes great effort into crediting the materials used for their works and has some shining examples among its submissions, sometimes containing up to 50 seperate sources.
There are lots of great typography deviations that are pretty much Photo Manipulations, as they use a series of materials to create the final artwork.
It does not matter where you get your files from, even if the provider does not require credit, dA does require you to credit your sources.

How it Will Work
For this contest, we are going to make things TOUGH. We will provide you with a list of stockers that you can choose from, however you only get to choose ONE stock artist and you must use all stock from that artist. And to make things even harder, you cannot use any human models, premade backgrounds, PNG cut-outs, or brushes (except the preset ones located in your software already). Also you MUST use a minimum of 3 stock images, there is no maximum
